Into the Bends of Time is a minute work in seven movements for a large chamber orchestra with electronics, utilizing real-time computer-assisted processing of music performed by live musicians. The piece explores various combinations of interactive relationships between players and electronics, ranging from relatively basic processing effects to musical gestures achieved through stages of computer analysis, in which resulting sounds are crafted according to parameters of the incoming musical material. Additionally, some elements of interaction are multi-dimensional, in that they rely on the participation of two or more performers fulfilling distinct roles in the interactive process with the computer in order to generate musical material. Through processes of controlled randomness, several electronic effects induce elements of chance into their realization so that no two performances of this work are exactly alike. The Bill Evans Trio featuring bassist Scott LaFaro and drummer Paul Motian is widely regarded as one of the most important and influential piano trios in the history of jazz, lauded for its unparalleled level of group interaction.

The music was composed by Victor Young , and the lyric was written by Ned Washington. The song was introduced by the singer Martha Mears in the film of the same name. The song failed to escape critics' general laceration of the film. Time wrote in its review that "nothing offsets the blight of such tear-splashed excesses as the bloop-bleep-bloop of a sentimental ballad on the sound track. In addition to the numerous covers that have followed its official release, this song has entered fully what could be described as the collective unconscious. Thereby, artists such as Hozier have hinted at this song.
Triple Play recently purchased a record collection of more than 2, LPs with more than jazz records. A large part of those LPs would be considered by any critic or collector as among the greatest jazz recordings ever made. Of the aforementioned LPs, I had five of them. I have all of them now and many more, but it's the Bill Evans Trio that I want to focus on today. Through the books about jazz I've been reading lately — I've written about them in past columns — as well as album jackets and notes I've read and documentaries I've watched, I've put quite a bit of information about Bill Evans into my memory bank. Evans went to college on a flute scholarship, graduating in with a piano major. He spent part of the s in the U. Evans was instrumental in the writing, arranging, performing and recording of Davis' classic "Kind of Blue," which was the biggest-selling acoustic jazz record of all time.
